What is Linux

A real Debian Linux shell, started fresh for you. There are no steps and no checks: run commands, read manual pages, write scripts, and start over whenever you like.

What is included

bash, coreutils, procps, util-linux and the usual GNU tools
git, curl, jq, vim, nano, tree, less and file
dig, ip, nc and openssl for network practice
man pages for everything installed

Good to know

No internet access and no sudo inside the sandbox
A session with no typing for 30 minutes is closed to free its seat
Your files are removed when the session ends
If every seat is taken, the page waits and retries for you

Allowed:

bash with coreutils, findutils, util-linux and procps
- ls, cp, mv, find, xargs, tar, gzip
- ps, top, kill, jobs and job control

Text processing

Allowed:

Search and transform text
- grep, sed, awk, sort, uniq, cut, tr, wc
- jq for JSON

Networking tools

Allowed:

Inspect and test
- ip, dig, nc, curl
- openssl for certificates and TLS

Editors and help

Allowed:

Write and read
- vim, nano, less, tree, file
- man pages for everything installed
